In January 2013 a Japanese delegation took the chance to visit the Munich BAU 2013 exhibition to gat latest information about the European construction market. The EAE was invited to make a special presentation about the European ETICS market.
The EAE member EUMEPS organized the 2013 Master Class conference in Vienna with focus on ETICS. Guest speakers of the EAE contributed to the successful event.
The river Danube is not only the second largest and one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe but also connects 10 European countries, their economies and their culture. Bratislava, the capitol of the Slovak Republic, hosted EAE’s General Meeting 2013.
After the 2nd European ETICS Forum in Strasbourg the EAE held its annual Members‘ Assembly. Delegates decided, due to the actions planned for the future, to increase the number of board members. The new elected EAE Board is truly European and formed by these people: Lothar Bombös, Germany (President), Ruud van Eersel, Belgium (Vice President), Dominique Delassus, France (Budget Affairs), Werther Colonna, Italy (Marketing Affairs) and Dr. Clemens Hecht, Austria (Technical Affairs).
During the 2nd European ETICS Forum 2012 in Strasbourg the EAE European Association for ETICS presented the first European Energy Saving Guide. Gino Gailliaert, Chairman of EAE’s Marketing Committee, presented the main findings of this study to the audience. After analyzing a variety of studies both at European level and national level, the huge opportunities became obvious, how ETICS may contribute to achieve cornerstones of Europe’s policy. After his speech Gino Gailliaert handed over the first Guides to representatives of the European Commission, Laurent Deleersnyder (DG Energy) and Mikkeli Tapani (DG Enterprise & Industry).
After a successful premiere two years ago in Brussels the EAE presented the 2nd European ETICS Forum 2012 in Strasbourg, seat of the European Parliament. High-ranking speakers from the European Commission, a famous Italian architect and experts from all over Europe talked about a variety of topics. EAE’s President Lothar Bombös: „There is no doubt that Europe can only achieve its ambitious objectives of the 20-20-20 energy policy if all Member States improve their efforts on energy efficiency significantly.”

ETICS are amazing!
This is the title of EAE’s new image brochure, presented by Vice President Clemens von Trott at the EAE Members Meeting in Paris on 18. November 2011. The forward is written by EU Commissioner for Energy, Günther Oettinger and the brochure was published very shortly after the founding of the Marketing Committee. Chairman Gino Gailliart, Chairman of the working group ETICS within the Belgian association IVP, and his team not only show the various possibilities for designing facades with ETICS in the brochure but also the huge opportunities for saving heating energy and CO2 emissions; they also illustrate the positive effects on the European labour market by using ETICS for thermal renovation.

First European guideline sets uniform standards for ETICS
The European Association for ETICS (EAE) has achieved one of its most important goals since its foundation in 2008: at the Association’s General Meeting in London at the start of April, the first ever European Guideline for the Application of ETICS was presented to EAE members in the form of a “master guideline”.

Welcome to the EAE
EAE – the European Association for External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems – is a confederation of national ETICS associations and leading sector associations at European level.
The objective of the association is to promote the benefits of using certified and approved and Tested External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems in facades of old and new buildings.
